I recently heard this quote:
âDreams are as fragile as butterfly wings, I broke all of mine by touching them.â
We seek happiness in future possessions. The imagination of our next desires is stronger than success itself. We always look at what we do not have.
One finds happiness in action, on the path to achieving oneâs goals. Alain tells us: âA chief of police is, to my taste, the happiest man. Why? Because he always acts, and always in new and unpredictable conditions.â [âŠ] âThus, at every minute of his life, this happy man finds himself facing a well defined problem, which demands a well defined action.â
One of the greatest frustrations, and one which causes anxiety for many, is working hard without seeing the results it brings, and having the impression of not moving forward.
So, what is to be done? The important thing is to be happy and to avoid frustration as much as possible. A chief of police can be much happier than a person earning millions of euros, because every evening after working, he has that feeling of having accomplished what he had to do.
Our imagination allows us to dream, to feel what we have not yet experienced. But beware of already seeing yourself as the one you will become. Fulfilling a specific action day after day means being fully in the moment we inhabit and in that moment when we will truly achieve our aim.
